A couple of months ago a very good friend of mine Aydar Nigmatullin started a #LOTUSDESIGNCHALLENGE and kindly invited me to come up with a proposal.

Lotus has constantly been a special brand for me. The concept of an affordable high performance sports car has always felt very attractive and proper in my opinion and the company has created numerous great sports cars throughout the years being true to it's own brand philosophy.

For this particular challenge I decided to do a modern version of the Europa model which has always been one of my Lotus' favorites. I adore this shooting brake silhouette with an almost pick-up feeling and a very unique proportion. The high deck makes the cabin feel even lower while the imperfect details give the car it's own unforgettable charm.

The design concept was to keep the original layout idea and preserve the simplicity of styling.
The character should be functional and simple to make you instantly recognize the brand. I really hope that this feeling has been achieved.
